Grugbox is an independent cultural publication, music review platform, and digital editorial outlet based in Accra, Ghana. 2. Acceptance and Eligibility

This User Agreement constitutes a legally binding agreement between you ("user", "reader", "you") and Grugbox ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing our content, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 13 years of age, or possess legal parental or guardian consent if younger.
  • You will abide by all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
  • You agree to use the service solely for lawful personal and non-commercial informational purposes, unless granted prior written authorization by Grugbox.

3. Editorial Integrity and Opinions

Grugbox publishes reviews, critiques, interviews, ratings, playlists, and cultural commentaries.

  • Critical Opinions: Scores, reviews, and editorial commentaries reflect the independent artistic assessments of our writers and editors. They do not constitute commercial endorsements, financial advice, or statements of factual certitude.
  • Fair Review: We evaluate records, performances, and cultural events with journalistic independence. Artists, record labels, PR agencies, and advertisers do not influence or purchase our review scores.

4. User Conduct and Submissions

We welcome community discussion, letters to the editor, tip submissions, and music pitches. When participating or contacting our team:

  • Respectful Discourse: Harassment, defamation, hate speech, abusive language, or personal attacks against writers, artists, or community members will not be tolerated.
  • Original Work: Any submissions, unsolicited pitches, demo submissions, or feedback provided to Grugbox must be your original work and must not infringe upon the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party.
  • Pitch Policy: Submitting music or press materials to info@grugbox.com or our editorial team grants Grugbox permission to review, listen to, and reference the material for journalistic purposes. We do not guarantee coverage or return submitted physical or digital media.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All original editorial text, headlines, interviews, layouts, graphics, custom artwork, logos, and digital designs on Grugbox are the exclusive intellectual property of Grugbox, protected by Ghanaian copyright laws and international treaties.

  • You may quote brief excerpts (under 100 words) for educational or commentary purposes, provided that you provide clear attribution and a direct link back to the original Grugbox article.
  • Full reproduction, syndication, scraping, or automatic extraction of articles without written licensing agreements is strictly prohibited.
  • Album artwork, artist press photography, and video snippets embedded or featured on Grugbox are the copyrighted property of their respective creators, record labels, and distributors, displayed here under Fair Dealing and journalistic review provisions.

6. Third-Party Links, Embeds and Players

Our platform frequently embeds streaming players (e.g., Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack, SoundCloud, YouTube) and links to external websites:

  • Grugbox is not responsible for the availability, licensing, privacy practices, or content of third-party platforms.
  • Your interactions with third-party streaming services are governed by their respective terms of service and user agreements.

7. Account Registration & Newsletter Subscriptions

When you subscribe to the Grugbox newsletter or register for site updates:

  • You agree to provide accurate, current contact information.
  • You understand that you can opt out or cancel your subscription at any time using the "Unsubscribe" link in any newsletter dispatch.
